The rules
- New build: the recipient is always the developer company named in your sales contract.
- Rent and deposit: the account holder is the owner in the rental contract and on the title deed (Chanote). Common scam: the “landlord” is not the owner.
- Contract takeover: payments as agreed in the takeover contract (developer or previous buyer) – best through a lawyer or an escrow account.
- Purchase price from abroad: only by SWIFT transfer in foreign currency with the bank’s FET form – you need it to register a condo in your name.
