Wongamat is the beach peninsula of Naklua in North Pattaya – a residential quarter where high-rise condominiums line a 1.3-kilometre strip of sand. Unlike Pattaya Beach, Wong Amat Beach has no beach road running along it, so the shoreline feels calmer and more private, even in peak season from November to February. Since the 2010s a wave of beachfront towers has transformed the area, and today it is regarded as one of Pattaya's most expensive neighbourhoods. Everyday life is still close at hand: Terminal 21 is about 2.4 km away by road, Central Pattaya and Royal Garden Plaza roughly 5 km, and the wooden Sanctuary of Truth about 2 km. U-Tapao Airport is around 50 km away, Suvarnabhumi around 120 km. Wongamat suits buyers who want sea views and a quieter base without giving up the city – with the caveat that beachfront land is scarce and prices per square metre are higher than in Jomtien, Pratumnak or the centre.
